  • Glazes and firing

  • Storage for your tools and materials

  • Free makeup classes

Adult beginner & Pre-Intermediate Classes

(Pre-intermediate means you may have had some experience with pottery but it’s been a long time and you'd like a refresher. You can switch classes if it’s appropriate.)

Tuesday 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Wednesday 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Thursday 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Demonstrations and discussions include clays and their classifications, basic firing and glazing techniques, and some aesthetics of form and design. Students will learn fundamental skills and become proficient in executing basic shapes such as cylinders, mugs, pitchers, and covered jars. Early intermediate students may also incorporate plates, larger bottles, vases, and bowls. If there’s something else you’d like to learn to make, just ask Dominic! Tools can be purchased at the first class.

Adult intermediate/Advanced Classes

Monday 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Tuesday 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Wednesday 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Thursday 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Saturday 9:00 am - 12:00 pm *this class is full

Demonstrations and discussions include further exploration of form, design, and decorating techniques as well as glaze formulation and production pottery techniques. Students have the opportunity to experiment with new surface treatments such as underglazes, stains, and slips. Increased skill level allows students to create more advanced shapes such as platters, teapots, and casseroles. Shapes are geared toward individual style, with an emphasis on originality. Personalized instruction enhances creativity.

The registration deadline is 10 days before the first day of class. Please call Dominic at 847-864-7778 to inquire about class availability.
